Metroland released their Reader's Picks of 2008 today. For the 4th year in a row we landed in one of the Best Band catagories. This year, we took Best Alternative Rock Bands. Debbie again won "Best Local Celebrity with Whom You’d Like to Have a One-Night Stand" - this year she moved way up the list to be listed #7... one ahead of Ed Dague! And Mark won "Best Ass in a Local Rock Band"
- Well at least we won all the important categories!

Tonight is our 4th Homecoming Show at the Bayou Cafe. Get there early because there will be a very long line waiting to get in. BUS TRIPS ANNOUNCED!!!

DECEMBER 13 - We'll be taking a mini party bus (with bathroom) from Premiere Limo to this show. Since this is a Thursday night, we'll pay for bus ride and your cover charge. We did it again!
Thanks to everyone who rode the bus with us, we succeeded in moving on to Round 2 in the BoDog National Battle of the Bands! The next bus trip for Round 2 will be in December! Watch our website very soon for details!

We also just posted some new stuff online. There are a few new photos in the gallery and part one of the next video episode is now on the music/video page. Also be sure to check out myspace and YouTube for some video from Northern Lights that didn't make it into Episode 23.

Alright... so the BoDog Battle of the Bands (mentioned below) has been rescheduled for THIS Saturday (Nov 3). A bus will be leaving Crossgates Mall (at the Macy's overflow parking lot) at 8:30am sharp on Saturday morning. We have a few seats available if you want to go - yes, they are FREE. Please email us if you're interested. The bus will return to Albany sometime around 6 or 7pm.

Bus Trip THIS Sunday! We were just accepted into the BoDog National Battle of the Bands! Round One is this Sunday at a club called The Hook in Brooklyn. We rented a mini party bus to go down to the show. 30 seats, bathroom, you can drink on the bus (no bottles). The whole band is riding the bus to the show and we've got room for about 20 more, so if you want to go, please email us! The bus leaves at 10am sharp from the Macy's overflow parking lot at Crossgates Mall. Email us asap to reserve a spot. The entire trip, including cover charge is FREE. We expect to be home by about 9pm Sunday night. We need your support... a million dollar record contract is at stake!

We did it again! Thanks to all our friends who came down to NYC with us, we qualified for the finals of MEANY FEST 2007! This is the second year in a row we qualified for the finals! Yes, we'll be getting a bus for the finals which will probably take place in late December!

MEANY FEST 2007!
Yes, we've been accepted into Meany Fest 2007! For those of you who weren't there last year, we made it to the finals out of over 300 bands! Meany Fest 2007 is a HUGE showcase/battle-of-the bands in NYC taking place in October. Our show will be at Arlene's Grocery on Oct 6th. YES, we will be bringing a bus to hold about 50 of you. Winners are ONLY selected based on the number of votes they receive so we need you there! Plus it's a lot of fun. Watch this page - bus tickets will go on sale soon!

AND as if that wasn't enough... we've begun plans for our first full-length album!
And we want YOU to be an owner of the record label. For the first time in history (as far as we know) a band is asking their fans to be their record label. For more information, go here!

So the past few weeks we've been hard at work on some video projects
Last night we shot some great video... expect to see some new stuff soon!

And in other cool news... You know how sometimes at shows we mention that we're a lot more popular in Germany than we are here in the US??? Well it seems we've moved on to the quarter finals of this Huge contest in Germany where we'll be touring there for 2 weeks with a few of their top National Acts with TV and print support and a full album! All expenses paid! Keep your fingers crossed for us!

We thought we'd pass on a great story emailed
to us by the father of one of our 3 year old fans, Beckett.

So Beckett and I are at the poolside resort overlooking the Atlantic in Deerfield Beach. It is happy hour and every one is drinking free mixed drinks for two hours. The guitar player who sings everything plays for tips so during breaks he makes table to table visits to get requests. Clever. He stops by our table. This guy seems to play everything (I didn't say he plays well...) Anyway... I request an old Beatles song. And then he goes and sits next to Beckett:

"What do you want to hear, Little Man?"

Beckett gets very shy and says, "Nothing."

"Oh come on. Every body has a favorite song and singer. Just tell me one song you want to hear and I will play it."

Beckett answers, "Number three"

Guitar man repeats, "number three. Who sings that?"

And Beckett who doesn't know song titles but rather
what number song they are on the cd says,

"Singer Debbie."
