Attention all Album Project Owners... Since our myspace page hasn't been too cooperative in letting people in, we'll use this page for all future updates.... scroll down for updates.

WHAT IS THE TEN YEAR VAMP ALBUM PROJECT?
Over a year ago, Ten Year Vamp began offering friends and fans the ability to become an "owner" of their label to release their first full-length studio album. Since then, many thousands of dollars have been raised. Owners had the opportunity to listen to almost 80 differnet tracks of almost 40 different songs. Owners even voted on what songs should be recorded for the album. The coolest thing is that owners will receive money back based on album sales and the amount of their donation!

It's too late to become an "owner" at this point... but you can go to our "Join Us" page and become a Street Team member to help out. You'll have the chance to win all sorts of cool exclusive stuff from 10YV including your own concert!

OWNERS... Scroll down for updates!

OWNER UPDATE 11/24/2009

Hey Owners!
Happy Thanksgiving.  Just a quick update for everyone.
Things have been going really well for us the past month.  Seem like every few days we’re getting another great album review or some publishing company wants to license one of our songs.  If you haven’t stopped by the Press Kit page of our website lately, you can scroll through some of the reviews.
CD sales have been going well, but have slowed down at shows in most of the clubs we play regularly.  This was expected. Once we hit 2010, our schedule will be super full and we’re working hard to get into some new clubs in new cities.
For the last month, we’ve been working with a management company in Arizona.  They’ll be helping us book some college shows.  Another thing they’re doing for us, is radio promotion.  In the next week or 2, independent and college radio station all over the country will have our music.  All it takes is a few radio stations to start playing one of our songs and we could have a huge hit!  But we’ll need your help calling stations to request us!  Check the “Join Us / Street Team” page on our website for other things you can do to help!  Or call a local (Capital District) station now!
Other good news is that Hot Topic has agreed to stock our new CD in some of their Capital District stores!
So that’s it for now… we hope many of you will make it out to the Homecoming show tomorrow night (Thanksgiving Eve) at the Bayou in Albany.  Not only will this be our 6th year playing on Thanksgiving Eve at the Bayou, but it will also be our 500th show together!  Our first ever acoustic show was in the front bar at the Bayou… who knew we’d last this long?!?!  And if you do plan on coming out tomorrow night, come early and wear your Ten Year Vamp shirts and drink from our keg on us!
AND DON’T FORGET OUR CD MAKES A GREAT HOLIDAY GIFT!!!

Happy Thanksgiving and see everyone soon!
Debbie & Mark

OWNER UPDATE 10/21/2009

Hey Owners…  just a quick update because we’ve got so much going on…
Hopefully you’ve already heard most of this… last week, Greg, took first place in Guitar Center’s Drum-Off competition.  The next round is in Brooklyn in early November.  Video from the night is up on YouTube now.  Greg is also featured right now on the home page of Modern Drummer magazine.  Our song Faked it was selected for possible licensing and use on a TV show (we don’t have any other details). The Mothpod music blog has a TV commercial airing in Indiana and we’re one of the bands featured in the commercial! We’ve been contacted by 2 small record labels, but it’s doubtful they can offer us anything we’re not already doing for ourselves.  A music licensing company in Florida just signed a deal with us for 4 of our songs, Pleasures, I Don’t Need, Another Try, and Stay.  They will now be trying to get those songs in movies and TV shows!  Never Know is featured in a Skateboard video… this skateboard is pretty freaking cool but we can’t show anyone until the video goes live - keep your eyes open.  We signed a non-exclusive deal with a new management firm in Arizona who will be helping us with lots of stuff down the road… from radio to college shows.  And 2 other large/National management companies have contacted us about possible representation, but we haven’t spoken with them yet.  Wow… it’s been an exciting week.

We also got a great review from UC Radio in LA:
“I was blown away by this band right away… The first time that I heard the lead singer Debbie Gabrione’s voice, I was hooked. They got great songs, excellent lyrics, great melodies, and like I said, Debbie’s voice just ties it all together. The album Don’t Act Like You Know Me, is solid all the way through… I ended up buying the album and wanted to play almost every song on the show today... On top of it all, Debbie is just f&%$in hot... This is a top of the UC Radio List recommendation.”

Finally… if you haven’t seen it on our site, Magic Hat is offering a $1000 sponsorship to 1 band.  The first round of their decision making is based on viewer comments.   If you haven’t already, please stop by and leave a comment (you can leave more than one). There are a lot of bands still ahead of us, so we need your help!  http://magichat.net/ontour/bands/ten_year_vamp_0

That’s it…  We’ll see some of you in Plattsburgh this weekend and others next Saturday on Halloween at Jillian’s.  Shhhh… it’s a secret… we’re going as rockstars… no, not ourselves… “Real” rockstars.  J  Can you guess who each of us will be?

OWNER UPDATE 10/12/2009

Hey Owners...

Just an update to let you know what we’ve been up to lately…

Our song, Another Try, has been picked up by Speed TV and used in one of their montages - you can find the link on our website for the clip on YouTube.  The same company that got our song placed has agreed to work with us directly, and will be trying to place our songs on some major television shows and even movies!  Keep your fingers crossed.

Finally, iTunes has got the album online!  If you use iTunes, please do a search and leave the album a review… it will definitely help sales.  And in addition to iTunes, we’ve updated the Join Us/Street Team page of our website.  Please stop by when you have time… it lists a bunch of websites that mention us where we could use your support by posting messages and/or requesting songs.

Also, we just “signed” with a small management company.  We’ve been working hard trying to find a management company that can open some doors for us and help us with a lot of stuff we can’t do ourselves.  We’re very happy with the group we’ve found, and we’re excited to see what we can do together.

Debbie’s been talking a lot with an A&R rep from Island Records who thinks he can help get us in front of the right people.  And we expect to sign a contract very soon with a “big” radio promoter to help get us on the radio.

I think that’s all the major news for now… watch the website and stay in touch!
Debbie, Mark, Andy, Greg, Tim, & Bill

OWNER UPDATE 9/23/2009

Hey Owners...

Another quick update to let you know what's been going on...
We've been working like crazy trying to get the new album to as many people in the industry as possible.  Our PR firm has on on blogs and podcast all over the world and we're getting a great response.  Please check out the Find Us page on our website and hit a few of the websites you'll find there.  Leave a comment or 2 - that will make us look good! :)

Latkfest was a blast last weekend... we sold a ton of CDs.  Throughout the entire weekend, we sold somewhere around 150 CDs!

Right now we're talking with a Radio Promoter (the people who contact radio stations and get them to play our music).  FLY92 actually set us up with this Promoter and we're very excited about the conversations we've been having.  We'll need the radio exposure to help us sell the number of CDs we're looking to sell... so hiring this guy will be a real good thing!

MEANY FEST... hopefully you all know MEANY FEST is happening and that we're a headline guest this Saturday at Crash Mansion.  We're taking a bus down and 40 friends (many of you are already on that bus).  We've got some big-time booking agents and management companies coming out to see us, plus we've spoken with a rep from a MAJOR record label who wants to meet us before the show.  All very cool, but nothing we're getting too excited about because we know how these things work.  BUT... everything is going according to plan... our plan :)

Soon we'll need your help calling lots of radio stations... but right now, please call 102.7 WEQX.  They are the guys who hired us for Larkfest and they are actually playing Never Know in their rotation of music.  Please keep calling them to ask to hear us...  802-362-1027 or eqx@weqx.com but please don't all email or call as soon as you read this... space your calls/emails out every few days... This helps us a great deal so please don't give up!

Hope to see everyone soon... and send us good vibes Saturday night!

Mark, Debbie, Tim, Andy, Greg, & Bill... ( Damn we have the most boring names in rock and roll! )

OWNER UPDATE 9/9/9

Hey Guys... A quick update...

CD sales have been going well…  But our opening weekend festivals were disappointing... with New Jersey getting rained out and the Lebanon Valley show not being what we were told.  But we made the best of the situations, so no looking back!  No word on when we'll show up in iTunes (we can't do anything about that). CDs should be in FYE stores now... so if you find yourself near an FYE, stop in to… first, make sure they have our CDs (let us know if they don't) and second, if you don’t find us, move our CDs to the front of the row so everyone can see it! :)

Our PR Firm is working hard and getting us visibility all over the Internet.  We've been sending out tons of promo packs.  Soon we'll need your help posting comments on all the blogs and podcasts that talk about us.  We mentioned one in this week's mailing list - check it out... the Mothman has great things to say about us! :)

We're still looking for a radio promotion company to push our album on radio stations across the country... this is no easy task and many people in this business are just out to take our money.  Anyway, we thought we found the right company, but  yesterday, our good friend Terry O'Donnell from FLY92 gave us a call to say he's got someone we should be working with. We haven't spoken to him yet, but we're hopeful.  We'll keep you posted.

Aside from all our regular stuff, we're trying hard to get in contact with NYC labels, booking agents, and management companies so we can get interested people out to see our MEANY FEST show on Sept 26th.  This is no easy task since no one in this business actually takes their own calls.  If you know anyone who knows anyone, let us know!  We've got 40 seats reserved on the bus and we really need to sell the last 12.  If you guys know anyone who might want to go, please have them get their "tickets" from our website asap.   We need all the support we can get for that show.

And speaking of support, if you're looking for something a little more local... we’ve got the first 10YV booze cruise next Thursday.  Ticket sales have been much lower than we hoped (probably because of Larkfest and MEANY FEST) but if you know anyone interested in going, please have them get tickets from the Show Calendar page of our website. We’d love a good turn-out so we’ll have the chance to do it again.

Lastly, if you're signed up at ReverbNation for our Street Team, we've got a new contest running... nothing huge as far as prizes, but you need to sign-up at ReverbNation of you want to be eligible.  Go to the Street Team page of our website to sign up.  The current contest tracks how many people you can expose our music to by pasting "widget" code on your myspace and/or facebook pages.  It's pretty cool because you can track your progress... some people have already started.  For those of you already involved, here's a tip... in addition to pasting the code on your myspace and facebook pages, give the code to your family and friends to paste on their pages. Now you'll get credit for their "plays" as well as yours!  This ReverbNation Street Team thing is pretty cool and very soon we'll be adding some contests that'll be worth CASH... and we're talking more than 2 digits worth... maybe more than 3, so sign up now so you’ll be ready to go!  If you have any questions, email Mark.

That's it for now... we've got some big plans and ideas coming up where we'll really need your help, but we won't bombard you with them just yet.  :)
See everyone soon... Roadhouse Friday night!

Debbie, Mark, and the rest of the gang...

OWNER UPDATE 8/19/2009

Hey Owners...

To those of you who were able to make it to the VIP Owners CD Release party...thanks so much for coming. We're hoping you had as good a time as we did. It was fun getting to hang out with everyone, and not have to play a show.

To those of you who DID NOT make it to the party, here's what you missed;
We had a private VIP room on the 2nd floor of Jillian's, equipped with leather couches and 2 pool tables. There was about 30-40 of us. We had a keg and some finger foods. We gave out the new CD's, new posters, stickers, free download cards, and chatted about 'the business'.
In an effort to make sure all our Owners are aware of the "business stuff", here is what we covered.....

We talked about the Album Project and how it's been publicly recognized as being ground breaking. It's been written up by Columbia School of Journalism, CNBC, Yahoo, Metroland, and more then 300 other news sites. (yesterday we heard from NPR in Washington DC - they want to talk about us on the air!)

We reviewed how much money we've been able to raise ($30,000 !!! ) and we talked about what it's been spent on; production, recording, mastering, duplication, a music video, merch, website, marketing materials, etc.

We also talked about what we still need to do; SELL THE CD !!!!
The whole point of making the CD was to sell it....so NOW IS THE TIME to SELL, SELL, SELL !!! We need to get Ten Year Vamp EVERYWHERE !!! To help sell the CD we will hire a radio promoter (to get our songs on the radio), public relations firm (to get us mentioned on blogs and news programs), we will continue to sell CD's and we're hoping you guys will help us as well.

If you love this CD as much as we do, then you'll be proud to sell it to everyone you know...friends, family, work associates, team mates, etc.. Think of everyone you know who may be interested in buying an album. In just looking through my hotmail account alone, I found 32 friends I could email and tell them how proud I am to be a part of this album, and I hope they'll support me and buy a copy. The album sells for $10.

In addition to making back the percentage you invested in the Project, we'll even offer the Album Owners an additional incentive. You guys can by the album at $8 each, then sell em for $10, and make a $2 profit off each sale.
Just let us know how many CD's you want, and we'll get em to you.

If anyone is interested in investing more or wants to help in other way, just let us know. We have a million things we need help with.

We even have a website set up to let you know what we need help with.... www.reverbnation.com/10yearvamp . Click JOIN STREET TEAM under our picture and we'll have a new contest posted very soon!

Tell everyone about Ten Year Vamp !!!!
Thanks!
Debbie

Thanks again to everyone who came to the party last night.
If any of you gave me money for the bus trip, please email me. I just want to make sure I didn't forget anyone!

And if you weren't at the party, please email us your current address so we can send your CD! (we don't want to waste money on postage for a returned CD :) Just reply with your current address!

Mark

OWNER UPDATE 8/11/2009

Hey guys... This might be our last update before the release...

So the CD will be officially released on August 21st. The release show will be at Vapor in Saratoga. We hope to see all of you there... but more importantly, as mentioned a few weeks ago, our PRIVATE "owners" party is Tuesday the 18th at Jillian's in Albany. We've reserved the private room updates and we'll get some drinks and food for everyone. We'll talk about what we've done until now, and what we've got ahead... and how you can help!

And everyone will get their CDs several days early!!!!

At this point, we hope everyone has already seen the new video... and even checked out the latest episode so you know what we've been up to.

So if you haven't already, please make sure to let us know if you're coming to the party on the 18th
See you soon!

OWNER UPDATE 7/31/2009

Hey guys... another quick update...

The album has been sent off for duplication... so far so good - everything is on schedule.

Anyway, once the album comes out, we'll really need a lot of help promoting it.  Between sales and radio promotion, it's a lot of work and the more of us we have helping out, the better we'll all be.  And if everyone can help, even just a little bit, we'll all be well on our way to making a profit on our investment. :)

So we signed up for this new website called ReverbNation.com. They've got all kinds of great tools us to use as a band... saving us tons of time.  They have all these "widgets" which will let you copy and paste code so you can drop Ten Year Vamp stuff on your myspace or facebook page - it's real easy.  It also has lots of tracking features so we can see how we're doing.  And the best thing is that it has a feature so people can sign-up to be on our Street Team.  Once you're signed up, we can give out "missions"... and by signing up and putting some of our widgets on your page, you can win all kinds of prizes from us.  We've set up a small one to start and test things out, but soon we'll set up some pretty cool cash prizes so we can reward those of you who put in a lot of time helping out.

To sign up for our Street Team, just go to our website www.tenyearvamp.com and click the Join Us link at the bottom.  Type your email in the box... then don't worry about what it says.  They'll send you an email with instructions for getting signed up.

If you have any questions, let me know.
Thanks and have a great weekend.. hopefully we'll see some of you in Plattsburgh!
Mark

OWNER UPDATE 7/28/2009

Hey Everyone… Thanks to all of you who sent in suggestions and comments about the album cover.  We appreciate all your thoughts… but you certainly didn’t make things easy.  You guys were all over the board with this one.  Some of you loved the same covers others of you hated.  Your votes were pretty much evenly distributed across 4 or 5 or the choices.  So we took those and looked at the pros and cons of each - from a marketing standpoint.  And when we looked at all the different reasons for selecting or not selecting the different versions, there was one clear winner.  BUT because the votes were so all-over-the-place, we decided that we will use the other covers in other situations.  And if you had extreme feelings for one cover over the others, you’ve still got time to go the link we gave you, and print it out so you can slide that into your CD and have your own personal cover. J

SAVE THE DATE:  Tuesday August 18th will be the private party for the owners and our close friends. You’re all welcome to come with a guest.  The party will be at Jillian’s in Albany at 7pm.  Keeping all our fingers crossed, we’ll have the CDs ready by then.  We’ll buy a keg and have Jillian’s make us some chicken wings or something.  We’ll be in their private room upstairs and we’ll have the new CD playing.  It’ll be a good chance for us to meet those of you who we’ve never met, so please come and introduce yourself.  Please email us to RSVP so we know how many people will be coming. Watch your email and the Album Project page on our website for last minute details.  If you can’t make it, no worries.  Just let us know you can’t make it and send us your current mailing address so we can get you your CD.  We know many of you are out-of-towners… we’ll make sure you get your CDs ahead of time.

We’re due to release the album on August 21st at Vapor in Saratoga.  We’ll be promoting this album Nationwide and this is where all of you will come in. We’re going to need each of you to help out when it’s time to start promoting… and the more everyone chips in, the more money we’ll all make. J We’ll fill you in more on all this at the party and in future emails.  In the meantime, check out the What’s New page on our website for all the cool stuff coming up… buses, boats, and the new 10YV hotline phone number!

OWNER UPDATE 7/22/2009
Still working on album artwork...

Go HERE to take a look at possible album covers. Let us know what you think...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OWNER UPDATE 7/16/2009
Hey guys... I think Andy& Debbie have finished the final bits of mixing with the Producer and we'll be sending the CD to get Mastered early next week. Mastering is the process of analyzing each song, adjust over-all EQ, compressing (getting the volumes as loud as they can be), and pretty much just cleaning everything up before we get them duplicated.

So we're working on the album artwork and the photos we'll be using on the promotional materials and posters over the next 8 months or so. Owners can take an advance look her (NO LONGER AVAILABLE) and then email us your thoughts & favorites.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OWNER UPDATE 6/18/2009
We're working hard to finish up the album with our Producer and Engineers. We've been working since mid-May and today, Andy is in the studio putting some finishing touches on a few tracks... nice "extra" stuff like drums loops and keyboard sounds - that kinda stuff. All the drums, bass, and guitars are finished. Debbie recorded her main vocal tracks in a day-and-a-half earlier in the week - this was amazing because normally this amount of work for 12 songs takes singers about 4 days. In fact, everyone in the band has far surpassed our Producer's expectations in what they could accomplish.

So next week, Billy and Greg are going back to finish up some percussion and keyboard ideas. Billy might lay down a vocal harmony or 2. Once they're done, Debbie goes back in to record all her harmony parts and "double-track" some vocal leads. Then we begin mixing the following week!

T-Shirts.... as promised when you signed up, everyone donating $100 or more would receive a free Album owners t-shirt. The shirts are in... we will be mailing them out soon. If you gave $100 or more and have not emailed us with your shirt size, please do asap.

And everyone, please keep in touch with current email addresses and mailing address. If you have any questions, feel free to email us!

Thanks!
10YV
